Aledmys Diaz getting a breather Wednesday for St. Louis
St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Aledmys Diaz is getting the day off Wednesday versus the Washington Nationals.
What It Means:
This is no more than a standard day off for Diaz, who has been excellent throughout the first week or so of the season. The Cardinals will start Greg Garcia at shortstop and hit him second versus Washington right-hander Max Scherzer.
Diaz is hitting .278 (10-for-36) through the season's first eight games while mashing three homers with five RBI's and two stolen bases.
