James Paxton works seven scoreless in Seattle's home opener
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher James Paxton threw seven scoreless innings Monday in the Mariners' 6-0 defeat of the Houston Astros.
Paxton set down the Astros at will on Monday, allowing just four hits and two walks while striking out eight. The southpaw has now started the season off with 13 scoreless innings and has the look of a breakout season if he can stay healthy. Paxton will take the mound again against the Texas Rangers this weekend.
Paxton now is sporting a 0.00 ERA with a 0.69 WHIP and 13 strikeouts in 13 innings pitched this season.
