Oakland will have Sonny Gray (lat) throw to hitters on Thursday
Oakland A's starting pitcher Sonny Gray (lat) will throw to hitters on Thursday as part of his recovery from a lat strain.
Gray took part in a bullpen session on Monday and come away with no issues, prompting the next step in his recovery. If all goes well on Thursday, Gray will likely be sent out for a rehab assignment in the minor leagues with a target return date to the majors in late-April.
NumberFire's algorithms project Gray for a 4.07 ERA with a 1.31 WHIP and 143 strikeouts in 181 1/3 innings pitched the rest of the season.
