Twins' Byron Buxton strikes out four more times Friday
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts Friday against the Chicago White Sox.
Buxton donned the golden sombrero, as his nightmare at the plate continues. Twins manager Paul Molitor said after Thursday’s game that he’s not considering moving Buxton out of the third spot in the batting order, but it might be a good idea just to take the pressure off in the short-term.
Buxton is batting .056 with a colossal 57.9 percent strikeout rate in 19 plate appearances. Our models project him for positive regression, however it won't be as drastic as we might like; we peg him for a .242 batting average and 29.1 percent strikeout rate for the rest of the season, with 19 home runs and 15 steals in 506 more plate appearances.
