Angels' Garrett Richards (biceps) to have MRI Friday
Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Garrett Richards (biceps) will undergo an MRI on Friday.
Richards was lifted from Wednesday's game with a biceps cramp, but the Angels claim the MRI is only a precautionary measure. The 28-year-old right-hander looked great prior to exiting, holding the Oakland Athletics to just three hits over 4 2/3 innings.
Without accounting for a potential absence, numberFire's metrics project Richards to record a 3.79 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 20.1 strikeout percentage across 144 2/3 innings over the remainder of the season.
