Braves zeroing in on White Sox's Chris Sale
Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale is the Atlanta Braves' "focus" as they look to acquire a starter, reports David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Sale is under contract through 2019, but Atlanta wants to upgrade their rotation before cutting ribbon on a new ballpark next season. O'Brien confirms that the Braves have also asked about Chris Archer of the Tampa Bay Rays and Sonny Gray of the Oakland Athletics, but the lefty on the White Sox is who they long for most.
Sale recorded a 3.34 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 25.7 strikeout percentage across 226 2/3 innings last season. His 2.95 nERD was a career-best.
