Andrew Miller dominant as Cleveland buries Toronto for AL pennant

Cleveland Indians reliever Andrew Miller was outstanding against the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 5 of the American League Championship Series, spinning 2 2/3 innings of scoreless ball in a 3-0 pennant-clinching victory.

What It Means:

Miller continued his sublime postseason on Wednesday, conceding just one hit over 2 2/3 frames. He threw just 21 pitches in Game 5, with 16 of them going for strikes. For his efforts, Miller was named the Most Valuable Player of the ALCS, becoming just the fifth reliever in league championship series history to be given the honor.

There's no denying that the 31-year-old southpaw earned the award either, as he was absolutely outstanding. Miller struck out 14 and walked none over 7 2/3 innings in the ALCS, allowing just three hits and no runs in the series.
