Nationals' Shawn Kelley's right hand won't require surgery
Washington Nationals reliever Shawn Kelley does not need surgery on his right hand.
Kelley was pulled from a relief appearance in Game 5 of the National League Divisional Series after experiencing numbness in the fingers on his pitching hand, but rest should prove as enough of an elixir.
The 32-year-old right-hander twirled a 2.64 ERA and career-high 35.7 strikeout percentage across 58 regular-season innings in 2016.
