Nationals' Wilson Ramos out 6-7 months following knee surgery

Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos will be sidelined for 6-7 months following surgery Friday to repair ACL and meniscus tears in his right knee.

What It Means:

That timetable guarantees he won't be ready for the start of next season, and a setback could mean his absence stretches even longer into 2017. Fortunately for Ramos' financial prospects, he had a phenomenal 2016 campaign and should have plenty of interested buyers. This is the second procedure he's received for his right ACL.

Ramos had a stellar year from the dish, slashing .307/.354/.496 with a career-best .361 wOBA through 523 plate appearances. He tallied 22 home runs and 80 RBI's on the year, both of which also represent career-highs.
