Nationals to start Max Scherzer for NLDS Game 5
Washington Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer will get the start for the Nationals as they host the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS Game 5 on Thursday.
Despite his Game 1 struggles -- when he allowed four runs over six innings -- the ace is Washington's best pitcher, and it's no surprise that he will take the mound for the decisive Game 5.
Scherzer dealt a 2.96 ERA and 3.05 SIERA through 34 regular season starts this year, while posting a career-best 31.5 percent strikeout rate.
