Cubs give Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Dexter Fowler night off
Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant, first baseman Anthony Rizzo and outfielder Dexter Fowler are all out of Thursday night's starting lineup against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Manager Joe Maddon wants to rest some of his guys heading into next week's National League Divisional Series. Tommy La Stella is manning the hot corner and leading things off for the Cubs. Javier Baez will start at first base and Albert Almora is handling things in center.
The Cubs are tops in the bigs, according to numberFire's MLB Team Power Rankings, who give the World Series favorites a 30.2 percent chance of bringing home the gold for the first time since 1908.
