Oakland activates Sonny Gray to start Wednesday
The Oakland Athletics have activated pitcher Sonny Gray from the 15-day disabled list, and he will start Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Angels.
Forearm inflammation has held Gray out since August 6, and his start is only expected to last a couple of innings as the team tries to get a gauge on his health heading into the offseason.
Gray has had a rough season, posting career-worst marks in ERA (5.74), SIERA (4.32), strikeout rate (18.1 percent) and walk rate (8.2 percent) through 21 starts.
