Jeanmar Gomez notches save for Phillies Wednesday
Philadelphia Phillies closer Jeanmar Gomez picked up his 37th save of the season on Wednesday as the Phillies beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-2.
There were runners on first and second with one out when Gomez entered the game, but he made it out of the game without allowing any runs, giving up one hit and striking out one to earn him his third save of September.
Gomez hasn't had a great season, with a 3.66 ERA and 3.99 SIERA through 66 1/3 innings. He also owns a 16.3 percent strikeout rate and 6.9 percent walk rate on the year.
