Alec Asher deals six scoreless for Phillies in 2016 debut
Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Alec Asher spun six scoreless innings on Thursday as he lead the Phillies to a 4-1 win in his season debut.
Asher has spent the season in the minors after going 0-6 in seven ugly major league starts in 2015. Luck seemed to be on his side a bit in this game, and he allowed only two hits despite not recording a strikeout over his six innings.
Asher earned himself a 8.02 SIERA on the day, and while he saw some good fortune on Thursday, he now has a 5.63 SIERA across eight major league starts in his career.
