Mike Leake (shingles) will rejoin Cardinals' rotation Wednesday

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Mike Leake (shingles) will re-join the team's rotation and start Wednesday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, according to manager Mike Matheny.

What It Means:

The Shingles has kept Leake out since August 21, and Alex Reyes has been in the rotation in his place. Expect Reyes to move back to the bullpen on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old Leake has a 4.56 ERA on the year, but it is accompanied by a less worrying 3.88 SIERA, which is his third-best mark in seven major league seasons. He also owns a 16.8 percent strikeout rate and 3.7 percent walk rate through 152 innings pitched.
