Byron Buxton blasts a three-run homer in return for Twins

Minnesota Twins center fielder Byron Buxton smashed a three-run home run in his return for the Twins, playing a big role in their 8-5 win over the Chicago White Sox on Thursday.

What It Means:

Buxton was optioned to Triple-A on August 7, and this was his first appearance since being called back up on Wednesday. He made it count, taking Jose Quintana deep in the bottom of the second to give the Twins a 5-1 lead.

The homer doesn't erase the struggles that got Buxton sent down in the first place though, and he is slashing an ugly .195/.248/.330 with a .249 through 221 major league plate appearances this season.
