Ian Kinsler batting second as Tigers square off with White Sox
Detroit Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler will bat second Monday against the Chicago White Sox.
Kinsler has served as the Tigers' leadoff hitter in all 123 of his starts this year, but manager Brad Ausmus wants to try something new. Cameron Maybin, and his impressive .398 on-base percentage this season, will hit leadoff Monday.
Kinsler is slashing .271/.330/.462 with 23 home runs and a .340 wOBA -- both of which are his highest marks since 2011 -- in 566 plate appearances. We project him to hit three more taters and post a .747 OPS over the remaining course of the season.
