Boston's Mookie Betts collects five hits Friday night
Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts went 5-for-5 with a pair of RBI singles in Friday’s loss to the Kansas City Royals.
Betts is making a strong case to be in the MVP discussion and Friday night is another example. While all five of his hits were singles, it was the first five-hit game of Betts' career. Boston collected a lot of hits on Friday, but they could only muster out three runs against the Royals, with Betts driving in two of them.
Betts owns a .320/.360/.557 slash line to go with 28 home runs, 93 RBI's, 99 runs scored and 21 steals in 583 plate appearances this season. He has an impressive .399 wOBA and 3.56 nERD rating in 2016.
