Johnny Cueto limits Mets to one run in Giants' blowout win
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Johnny Cueto threw seven innings of one-run ball in an 8-1 win over the New York Mets on Friday.
Cueto finally put up a strong start after four straight concerning ones. The loan run came off a solo homer to Curtis Granderson in the second inning, but overall it was a solid performance. He struck out two batters and didn't walk anyone across his seven innings of work.
Cueto now owns a 2.90 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP over 173 2/3 innings this year. He also has a 21.8 strikeout rate and a 2.87 nERD in 2016.
