Reynaldo Lopez goes seven strong in Nationals' win
Washington Nationals starting pitcher Reynaldo Lopez held the Atlanta Braves to two runs (and only one earned run) over seven innings, while striking out 11 as the Nationals went on to win 8-1 on Thursday.
What It Means:
That was only the fourth major league start of Lopez' young career, but he looked great. While his last two starts have both come against the lowly Braves offense, he has gone seven innings in each, while allowing only one earned run in each game.
Lopez put together some strong numbers in the minors this year, with a 3.18 ERA in 14 Double-A starts and 3.12 ERA in 4 Triple-A starts, but he has had some struggles in the majors, with a 4.37 ERA and 4.04 SIERA through his first 4 games.
