Carlos Santana (head) not in Friday's lineup for Indians
Cleveland Indians designated hitter/first baseman Carlos Santana (head) is absent from the starting lineup Friday against the Los Angeles Angels.
This was somewhat expected since Santana was removed from Thursday's contest after taking a foul ball off of the side of his head while in the dugout. On Friday, Santana said that he's feeling much better, but he'll still undergo more testing just to be safe. It looks like Santana avoided a concussion, which is good news. Cleveland is using Francisco Lindor as their designated hitter on Friday, while Michael Martinez -- and his .279 wOBA this season -- will start at shortstop.
Santana is having a solid season, slashing .242/.338/.474 with 25 home runs and a .348 wOBA in 485 plate appearances. We project him to hit eight more jacks and post an .818 OPS over the rest of the year.
