Yankees' Nathan Eovaldi (elbow) placed on disabled list
New York Yankees starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with an injured right elbow.
Eovaldi had to be pulled after only 12 pitches on Wednesday, and while it's just the 15-day disabled list for now, the nature of the injury means that his season could very well be in jeopardy.
Eovaldi is sporting a 4.76 ERA with a 4.32 SIERA this season, though those numbers have been accompanied by a career-high 18.48 percent strikeout rate. Through 21 starts and 24 appearances on the year, the 26-year-old right-hander owns a 9-8 record through 21 starts and 24 appearances (124 2/3 innings).
