Jonathan Lucroy

Jonathan Lucroy, Carlos Beltran out of Rangers' lineup

Texas Rangers catcher Jonathan Lucroy and outfielder Carlos Beltran are both getting the day off Thursday.

What It Means:

Robinson Chirinos will start at catcher, while Jurickson Profar mans the hot corner and Adrian Beltre serves as the DH for Texas. They will hit ninth, sixth and fourth, respectively. Lucroy has been steady mashing for the Rangers (.464 ISO, four home runs in 30 plate appearances) in his eight games of service since being acquired from the Milwaukee Brewers, but he's getting a day off for Thursday's series finale. Beltran is receiving a day of maintenance after dealing with a quad contusion that forced him to miss some time earlier in the week.

For the season, Lucroy is hitting .295/.355/.500 with a .362 wOBA in 406 total plate appearances. Beltran owns a .304/.344/.544 slash and .372 wOBA across 418 appearances at the plate, for both the Rangers and New York Yankees.
