Jon Gray throws seven innings of one-run ball in Rockies victory
Colorado Rockies pitcher Jon Gray threw seven innings of one-run ball, striking out three while allowing five hits and two walks in a 3-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday.
While the three strikeouts may have been a bit of a let-down for fantasy owners, Gray has now only allowed four earned runs over his last four starts, tallying 27 strikeouts over 27 1/3 innings in that span.
The 24-year-old Gray has shown improvement in his second year in the majors, posting a 3.67 SIERA and 25.39 percent strikeout rate through 18 games. He ranks 59th in the majors with a solid 2.25 nERD.
