Phillies sign Whit Merrifield to one-year deal
Former Toronto Blue Jays infielder Whit Merrifield has signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Phillies.
What It Means:
Merrifield and the Phillies have agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $8 million.
In 592 plate appearances for Toronto last season, Merrifield hit 0.272 with 11 homers, 66 runs, 67 RBI, 26 stolen bases, and a 0.700 OPS.
