Athletics calling up infield prospect Ryon Healy
Oakland Athletics corner infield prospect Ryon Healy will be called up, reports Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.
What It Means:
Starting third baseman Danny Valencia is hot on the trade block, while first baseman Yonder Alonso has been replacement-worthy, so Healy is in good position to see a decent amount of playing time from the get-go.
Healy is slashing .326/.382/.558 with 14 jacks and 64 RBI's across 84 appearances at the plate this season between Double-A Midland and Triple-A Nashville. Those numbers earned him a bid to the 2016 All-Star Futures Game, which he went 2-for-3 for Team USA.
