Stephen Strasburg (back) on track to be on mound for Nationals Sunday
Washington Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg (back) is on track to start Sunday versus the Milwaukee Brewers.
An upper back strain kept Strasburg out of a showdown with Jake Arrieta in his last scheduling outing. After getting two ribs popped back into place and throwing a light bullpen session on Friday, he is expected to be ready to go on Sunday. There should be an update on his status on Saturday once he arrives at the ballpark.
As is always the case with Strasburg, when he's healthy, he's the best. He owns a 2.87 SIERA, 31.9 percent strikeout rate and 6.5 percent walk rate through 93 innings this season. Strasburg did deal with neck and back ailments last year, as well.
