Athletics leave Brent Rooker off Monday lineup
The Oakland Athletics did not include Brent Rooker in their lineup for Monday's game against the Texas Rangers.
What It Means:
Rooker will rest up on Monday while the A's get Cody Thomas some reps at the plate, having him bat leadoff as their designated hitter. Seth Brown will cover right field and Tyler Soderstrom will play at first base.
Rooker has cooled off a bit after his electric start to the season, but still has 18 homers, 37 runs, 48 RBI, and 2 stolen bases through 353 plate appearances. He's batting .242 with a .799 OPS.
