Kris Bryant, Jason Heyward sitting Friday for Cubs
Chicago Cubs third baseman/left fielder Kris Bryant is not in the starting lineup on Friday against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
This is just a routine day of rest for Bryant. Jason Heyward will also be on the bench for the Cubs, as they are going with Javier Baez at third base, with Matt Szczur and Albert Almora Jr. manning the corner outfield spots.
Bryant is having an impressive sophomore campaign, slashing .273/.360/.514 with 15 home runs, a .241 Isolated Power, and a .373 wOBA in 283 plate appearances. Our models currently project him to hit .266/.353/.473 with 16 home runs and a .359 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
