Rubby De La Rosa

Diamondbacks' Rubby De La Rosa won't need Tommy John

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Rubby De La Rosa does not need another Tommy John surgery, Dr. James Andrews determined.

What It Means:

Andrews performed De La Rosa's first Tommy John surgery back in 2011 and took a look at his recent MRI results. He found a "stretched" ulnar collateral ligament but no tear. De La Rosa is hopeful that rehab will get him back in the majors sometime in August.

De La Rosa was steady as she goes for Arizona before getting hurt, boasting a 4.15 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 23.90 strikeout percentage through 47 2/3 innings. He is 4-4 in his 10 starts this season.
