Brian McCann sitting out again Friday for Yankees
New York Yankees catcher Brian McCann is not in the starting lineup Friday against the Baltimore Orioles.
The slumping McCann has now been benched for three out of the last four games, and this time it's when the opposition is starting a righty. There hasn't been any indication of an injury, so it appears he's just getting time to regroup. Austin Romine is catching and hitting ninth.
McCann's slump has dropped his slash to .224/.321/.401 with seven home runs and a .317 wOBA in 168 plate appearances this season. Our models currently project him to hit .230/.319/.412 with 13 home runs and a .315 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
