Ian Kinsler gets night off Thursday for Tigers
Detroit Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler is getting the night off Thursday against the New York Yankees.
What It Means:
Mike Aviles will get the start at second base and bat eighth for the Tigers versus Yankees' right-hander Michael Pineda. Cameron Maybin is in the leadoff spot.
Kinsler is off to an impressive start this season, slashing .314/.364/.531 with 11 home runs (the same amount he hit in 2015), seven stolen bases and a .384 wOBA in 225 plate appearances. Our models currently project him to hit .292/.345/.439 with 10 home runs, 14 steals and a .340 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
