Astros' Collin McHugh notches complete-game victory
Houston Astros pitcher Collin McHugh went the distance against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday, allowing three runs while striking out eight in an 8-3 victory.
It wasn't the prettiest outing as far as complete games go as McHugh served up a couple home runs among the three runs he yielded. However, he also walked just one to go along with his eight punchouts, and at Chase Field, it was certainly an impressive effort.
It's baby steps, but McHugh boasts 26 punchouts to three walks over his last 21 1/3 innings. For the season, he has a 3.85 SIERA, 20.7% strikeout rate and 5.2% walk rate. He faces the Oakland Athletics at home this weekend.
