Rangers' Josh Hamilton (knee) done for the season
Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton needs another surgery on his left knee and will miss the remainder of the season.
Hamilton's season never actually got started, as he was bothered by the knee in spring training and got pulled off a minor league rehab assignment earlier this month due to continued soreness. After going for a second opinion, he has decided to go ahead with the surgery, which will take place on June 8. The 35-year-old vows to make it back next season. He's owed $30 million in 2017, with the Los Angeles Angels picking up most of the tab.
