Boston puts Brock Holt on seven-day concussion disabled list
Boston Red Sox left fielder/second baseman Brock Holt was placed on the 7-day concussion disabled list, retroactive to May 19.
It's unclear when Holt suffered the concussion, but the club is calling it a mild one, for what it's worth, so perhaps he won't be sidelined long. Chris Young figures to pick up some extra playing time in left field while Holt is on the shelf, although Blake Swihart has been playing some left field at Triple-A Pawtucket and he was recalled Friday.
Holt is hitting .239/.310/.354 in 130 plate appearances this season. He's posted a .297 wOBA with three homers, 19 RBI's and two stolen bases on the year.
