Andrew Velazquez (knee) out for Angels remainder of season
The Los Angeles Angels placed infielder Andrew Velazquez on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a right meniscus tear.
What It Means:
Velazquez suffered the injury during Tuesday's contest against the Cleveland Guardians and he will miss the remainder of the season. Michael Stefanic was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday in a corresponding roster move. David Fletcher will start at shortstop in Wednesday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Cal Quantrill and the Cleveland Guardians.
