Joc Pederson joining Giants' bench Tuesday night
San Francisco Giants outfielder Joc Pederson is not in the starting lineup on Tuesday against left-hander Tyler Gilbert and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
What It Means:
Darin Ruf will shift to left field in place of Pederson and hit third while Yermin Mercedes enters the lineup as the designated hitter and cleanup man. Austin Slater will cover the leadoff role.
