Stephen Vogt idle for Athletics Monday evening
Oakland Athletics catcher Stephen Vogt is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against right-hander Jake Odorizzi and the Houston Astros.
What It Means:
Sean Murphy will catch for Adam Oller while Vogt returns to the bench. Stephen Piscotty will be the Athletics' designated hitter and Ramon Laureano will rotate to right field. Skye Bolt will replace Vogt in the order to play center field and hit eighth.
