Jake Marisnick (thumb) batting eighth for Pirates Monday

The Pittsburgh Pirates will start Jake Marisnick (thumb) in centerfield for Monday's game against the Miami Marlins.

What It Means:

The Pirates elevated Marisnick to the active roster earlier today after Marisnick finished his rehab for a thumb injury. In a corresponding move, the team moved Bryan Reynolds to the IL with an oblique injury. Marisnick will bat eighth and play centerfield against the Marlins Monday.

Marisnick has not played since early May, but could see a decent amount of work in the next few weeks if he is healthy enough. He has made 52 plate appearances so far this year and is batting .163 with a .400 OPS.
