Phillies' Charlie Morton requires season-ending hamstring surgery
Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Charlie Morton needs surgery for a torn hamstring and is done for the remainder of the season.
What It Means:
Morton was off to a hot start this year with a 3.32 SIERA and 26.8 percent strikeout rate through four games. While his career numbers are still middling, the 32-year old righty has shown improvement over recent years and hasn't posted a SIERA above 3.90 since 2012.
