Dodgers' Austin Barnes on bench for first leg Tuesday
Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes is not in the starting lineup against left-hander Tyler Gilbert and the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader.
What It Means:
Will Smith is covering center duties for the first game, but Barnes will likely be back behind the plate for Game 2. Hanser Alberto is replacing Barnes in the lineup to play third base and bat ninth. Justin Turner is at designated hitter.
