Corey Seager sitting for Dodgers Thursday afternoon
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Corey Seager is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Jake Woodford and the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Dodgers appear to be giving Seager a routine breather in the day game after a night game. Trea Turner is covering shortstop and hitting third while Mookie Betts moves to second base and into the leadoff spot. Billy McKinney is entering the lineup to play right field and hit seventh.
numberFire’s models project McKinney for 11.8 FanDuel points and he has a $2,000 salary on Thursday’s slate, currently making him our top point-per-dollar option among hitters. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Dodgers have an implied total of 4.9 runs, which is the second-highest in the majors on Thursday. Woodford is registering an 18.8 strikeout percentage and an 8.6 walk percentage this season, with a 5.04 xERA and a .339 xwOBA.
