Xander Bogaerts on Boston's bench Thursday
Boston Red Sox infielder Xander Bogaerts is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's series finale against right-hander John Gant and the Minnesota Twins.
What It Means:
The Red Sox appear to be giving Bogaerts a maintenance day. Enrique Hernandez is shifting to shortstop in place of Bogaerts while Christian Arroyo enters the lineup to play second base and bat seventh. J.D. Martinez is moving up a couple spots to bat third in place of Bogaerts.
