Rangers' Tanner Scheppers to undergo knee surgery
Texas Rangers' reliever Tanner Scheppers has torn articular cartilage in his left knee and will undergo surgery, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star Telegram reports.
What It Means:
Scheppers will be sidelined until after the All-Star break. The Rangers have cultivated a nice and deep bullpen in Texas, so they should be able to absorb this loss without much difficulty.
Scheppers registered a 5.63 ERA (5.27 xFIP), 7.51 strikeout-per-nine rate, and 5.40 walks-per-nine rate over 38 1/3 innings in 2015.
