Boston's Eduardo Rodriguez (heart/COVID-19) will not return this season
Boston Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez has been ruled out for the rest of the 2020 season.
Rodriguez tested positive for COVID-19 earlier in offseason and as a result of the virus, developed myocarditis, a heart issue. He was shut down from baseball activities in July, but the Red Sox had planned for him to contribute later in the season. That option is off the table now as Rodriguez is officially done for the year due to complications from the virus. The Red Sox expect him to make a full recovery, but don't believe he will have enough time to do so before the end of the season.
