Cardinals' Dylan Carlson part of player pool

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dylan Carlson is part of the club's initial player pool for the 2020 season.

What It Means:

Carlson was crushing it in Grapefruit League play before Spring Training was suspended. If he picks up where he left off, Carlson could crack the Cardinals' Opening Day lineup. The 21-year-old is considered one of the top outfield prospects in baseball.

Carlson hit .313/.436/.469 over 39 plate appearances in Grapefruit League play this spring. He slashed .292/.372/.542 as a 20-year-old between Double- and Triple-A last year.
