Blue Jays reportedly claim Zack Godley from Diamondbacks
The Toronto Blue Jays claimed pitcher Zack Godley off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks, reports Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic.
Godley was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks on Sunday after struggling both as a starter and reliever, evidenced by arguably the worst numbers of his career. However, the 29-year-old right-hander has succeeded in the past, so he could get another chance as a starter for a rebuilding Blue Jays club.
Godley owns a 6.39 ERA and 1.53 WHIP with 58 strikeouts and 35 walks in 76 innings this season (27 games, nine starts).
