Matt Duffy (back, hamstring) making season debut Tuesday for Tampa Bay

The Tampa Bay Rays activated third baseman Matt Duffy from the 10-day injured list.

What It Means:

Duffy is making his season debut on Tuesday after spending all season on the shelf with back and hamstring issues. He's playing the hot corner and batting fifth versus left-hander Chris Sale and the Boston Red Sox. Yandy Diaz was placed on the 10-day IL with a left foot contusion in a corresponding roster move.

Duffy hit .294/.361/.366 with 59 runs scored, 12 steals, 44 RBI, 4 home runs, and 22 doubles in 560 plate appearances for the Rays last season.
