Sonny Gray lifted from Reds' start with calf contusion
Cincinnati Reds pitcher Sonny Gray was removed from his start Thursday against the Miami Marlins due to a left calf contusion.
Gray took a comebacker off his leg in the top of the second inning. He was able to stay in the game until Robert Stephenson took over in the top of the fifth frame, but it's not clear if it will force the veteran to miss his next start. The 29-year-old right-hander struck out 6 batters and allowed just 2 hits over four scoreless innings before leaving.
Gray owns a 2.03 ERA with 13 strikeouts over 13 1/3 innings this season.
