Nick Markakis not in Atlanta's lineup Sunday afternoon
Atlanta Braves right fielder Nick Markakis is not starting in Sunday's series finale versus left-hander Caleb Smith and the Miami Marlins.
It appears to be a breather for Markakis, who went 0-for-9 with 4 strikeouts in the first two games of this series. Johan Camargo is covering right field while Josh Donaldson starts at the hot corner and bats second. Alex Jackson is making his major league debut at catcher, as Brian McCann (hamstring) is on the injured list and Tyler Flowers (hand) was hit by a pitch in Saturday's loss to the Marlins.
numberFire's models expect Markakis to hit .278 with 11 home runs and 65 RBI over the rest of the season.
